The challenge
Burle’s Bar is named after Roberto Burle Marx, the Brazilian landscape architect known for bold public gardens where native plants and city life share space. The brand had to do two things: carry that idea and hold its own in a fun but sophisticated lounge designed by Alison Michaels-Fandel.
Alison’s space already makes a statement, with organic materials, pattern, and bold colors. A brand that competed with it would feel chaotic, and one that retreated would disappear.
The brand assets
The wordmark carries the boldness, while the color palette, pulled directly from the interior palette, provides the harmony. For the logo, I drew Roberto himself. His personality and presence are central to what the Burle’s Bar team wanted to create—a beautiful, inspiring gathering place.
Secondary collateral
When the brand steps outside the interior space, it stands on its own; it’s bolder and makes a statement on its own.
